SOME
INFORMATION ON If You have just adopted an animal from the WVHS we want to be sure that your pet continues in good health. Each animal that enters the adoption kennel is examined and vaccinated to protect him/her from deadly diseases. However this does not instantly or totally protect the pet. In some cases if the animal already has the disease, but is not showing any signs, the vaccination may bring it to the surface. Even though your pet has been innoculated, we do not know if it has been incubating a disease before it arrived at the shelter. Just as with humans, animals can catch a disease long before there are outward signs of the problem. It should also be noted that in a kennel environment an animal is exposed to many other animals and many germs. It is very important for you to monitor the health of your pet. At the first signs of illness. SIGNS OF ILLNESS IN CATS AND DOGS
Baby animals are much more susceptible to diseases than older animals. Please keep all adoption records and bring them to the clinic when you visit. We cannot reimburse you for veterinary fees paid at other clinics. THIS IS IMPORTANT! This information is just that: information. This is not meant as a substitue for the kind of service and care that only an experienced veterinarian can provide you and your pet. Whenever your pet is sick there is only one rule: SEE YOUR VET! |
